Title: Working with Finale users who do not have VDL
Post by: acgriesser on June 22, 2017, 06:49:26 PM
Good evening,
I am attempting to copy and paste battery parts into an existing front ensemble score. Both scores were created using Finale 2014.5, but the other user does not have VDL. I have done this in the past with no issues. Now that I am using VDL 2.5 and template from The Write Score, the battery parts look crazy when I copy them over (jumping all over the staff, instead of on the correct spaces). I know I saw a help page about "working with users who do not have VDL", but now I can't find it. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Thanks for joining The Write Score forums.

There are 2 ways to resolve this issue. The first is to open a TWS template file, set up the score, and then copy and paste the front ensemble parts from the original to the score you've created.

The second option is to import the TWS Finale Percussion library into the original. This will resolve the mapping issues. It will however, duplicate many of the default Finale text expressions.
