I have my vibes set up with 4 layers.
Layer 1- Vibes
Layer 2- Rack B
Layer 3- Vibes
Layer 4- BD/Tam Combo
In the score manager I have the Vibe layer 2 assigned to CH 5 and Perc MIDI map assigned to Rack Rack Combo B.
In Kontakt, I have Rack B assigned to CH. 5.
In the score I switch to Layer 2 in the vibe staff and I enter a sizzle cymbal whole note. I hear the correct sound, and I see the correct note head. When I leave the measure the note head disappears and the measure is blank. When I click back on the measure it appears again but leaves when I click on another measure. I hear the sizzle cymbal on playback but there is nothing in the vibe staff where I entered it.
I noticed that with a marimba staff all of this works fine if in the score manager I change the notation style from standard to percussion. This however transposes all of the pre-written marimba notes to other pitches. I can't seem to isolate this change to just one layer, it applies notation styles to all layers of the staff.
What have I missed?
Thanks,
Nevermind...
I revisited my score from last year to see how I made it work there and I found my answer.
I have to write all the rack/aux percussion parts in a hidden percussion staff (so they will be heard on playback) and I notated and text-expressed the parts in the corresponding keyboard staffs.
