Topic: Finale 2011/2012? VD 2.5.5?

Allegro

I'm a Finale 2011 user who bought 2012 but have not yet installed it.  I recently purchased VD Demystified to help the learning curve.  I have about 10 8-hour days dedicated to learning (mastering?) Virtual Drumline.  Am I better off sticking with 2011, or would I be better suited installing 2012?  I plan on using the Demystified DVD to help me out, will that assist me with 2011 and 2012 equally, or is better suited for 2011?  I get the idea it was written for 2011.  Also, will VD 2.5.5 work equally well with 2011 or 2012?  I appreciate any help and definitely plan on purchasing either the 2011 or 2012 template once I decide on a direction.  Thanks a ton!

Tom,

VDL Demystified was written for Finale 2011. Finale 2012 has several improvements that will make working with VDL more productive. Template updates for VDL 2.5.5 should be available soon. They will be compatible with Finale 2012 only. Updates for previous versions of Finale (2010 and 2011) may be developed but there is no timeline for completion at this time. Know also that there will be no Finale 2013 released. So installing 2012 and getting comfortable would be a good idea. Hope that answers some of your questions.
