Topic: VDL 255 Accessory Percussion Midi Map file empty?

davideverotta

Hello, I just installed the Finale VDL Template 2014 (thank you for the upgrade) and everythign seems to be ok with the exception of the VDL 255 Accessory Percussion midi Map file. When I am in Score Manager if I click on all the maps I can the see the different options, however if I click on the Accessory Percussion nothing shows.

I am using Finale 2014c.v4736, Mac Os 10.9.5 on a 2.66 Ghz Intel Core i7. Attached is the midi map file.

thank you

David,

I'll need to take a look at the file more closely. But I can see the info, and it's the same file as the one released with the last Finale 2012 templates. So, I'm not sure what's going on.

David,

In Score Manager, first assign a midi channel, then Percussion MIDI Map, then Percussion Layout. When you are in the Percussion Layout window click Edit and you should see all of the sounds for that particular instrument or combo.

Would you attach a screen shot of what you see when looking at the Percussion MIDI Maps?

I started a new file and used one of the templates (FIN14_battery). The first screen shot is when I bring the mouse over the "VDL255 Accessory Percussion": nothing shows. The second is when I take the mouse to "VDL255 Battery" that shows all the different options.

David,

The screen shots helped me better understand the issue. Unfortunately, I'm still not seeing the same behavior on my computer. Have you placed a new copy of the Accessory file into the MIDI Device Annotation folder? I would do that first, then start Finale and open up a new template file. Let me know what the results are.

The file is in the MIDI Device Annotation Folder. It might be corrupted because if I put there the FIN12 version it works fine. So if you say that they are actually identical I will use the FIN12 version.
thank you

What I'm suggesting is that you replace the current file with another copy.
