For some reason I am unable to open up the mixer while using this template.  has anyone else had this problem?

I haven't had that problem. Does the mixer open when using all other files?

Also, the mixer might still be opening up like it's supposed to, except that it may be off of your screen somewhere. Do you use two monitors? I can't recall off of the top of my head how to get it back into view.

Yeah, I think that may be the problem as I can't get the mixer up in other files suddenly.  I went to the Sibelius site but the fix  (489) did not solve the problem.  I'm only using one monitor btw.

I was subsequently able to fix the problem by changing my screen resolution temporarily.

Great! Glad you got the Mixer back. There might be other methods for doing so, but at least we know that one works.
