timpani to suspended cymbal change

I am trying to change to a suspended cymbal in the timpani staff. No matter what I enter, it comes out on ledger lines below the staff and I don't get any sound. Changing to sus cymb works from all the other staffs fine. I also tried creating a new score from scratch and got the same result. Yes, I am using the Sibelius "change instrument" function.  I attached a screen shot.

I have figured it out on my own.  You have to uncheck the "add clef" box on the change instrument dialogue.  When I did that, it worked perfectly.  This seems to be just with the timpani staff.
