Sibelius 8.4, VDL & VDL_SoundSet_7.0a.xml

Hi!

Could you kindly sort this out for me?
I am not able to local VDL_SoundSet_7.0a.xml from Sibelius 8.4>Sound Set in Playback Devices and Configuration settings.
I have pasted the VDL_SoundSet_7.0a.xml in the Libraries folder of Sibelius Sounds rightly.
I am attaching a screenshot of this issue.

What version of Sibelius are you using?

Please attach a screen shot of the complete path to where you placed the XML file. (See also Installing A Sound Set.)

That is not where it goes. The sound set goes in the Sibelius User's folder, which for you is at:

/Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Avid/Sibelius/Sounds

And if you don't see a "Sounds" folder when you get there, you need to create it.

Also, whether this Template can play version update 2.5.5 of VDL?
And finally, is this the right path to Playback Devices (photo attached) & what is Virtual Drumline 2.5 in this list?

That folder is not correct. The path needs to start with "/Users/yourusername/Library/...". The User's Library folder is hidden by default, that one is not.

Also, whether this Template can play version update 2.5.5 of VDL?

VDL Template 7.0a requires VDL 2.5.5.

And finally, is this the right path to Playback Devices (photo attached)

I do not see a photo referencing a Playback Devices path. The Playback Devices settings are stored in the Sibelius Users folder, next to where the Sounds folder goes.

"Virtual Drumline 2.5" is the Sibelius supplied sound set (I helped to make) that originally shipped with Sibelius 5.2. This sound set was made for VDL 2.5.0, and has not changed since Sib 5.2.


Ishag, it looks like you got VDL SoundSet 7.0a to show up. Are things working for you now?

Hmm... I've thought about it in the past, but right now I do not have plans to make templates for other libraries.
