Finale 2014 VDL 2.5 Template/Midi Map Installation Issues

So I have waited forever for the Finale 2014 VDL 2.5 XML Midi Maps to come out and now that I have them installed they don't seem to be working. Everything has been copied into the appropriate folders and in the score manager recognizes the VDL midimaps as an option but when I go to notation settings the VDL 2.5 options are not shown. Also, when I try to use one of the templates it tells me its an invalid file type. Help?

If you're not using 1 of the template files the layouts won't be visible. They are part of the template files. They are also found in the VDL Percussion Library file. You would need to load that Library into an open Finale file to have access to the layouts in that manner.

You don't say which OS you are running. There is a specific file type for Finale templates when running Windows. For the Mac, they just need to be placed in the Templates folder. Double check the Readme documentation for the exact location.
