i install sibelius on an earlier mac  OS 1-.6.8   sib 7.1.3

sib S7S-SE6 sound set 7.1a does not appear in plybk devise sound set
and cannot be launched ?

Hi atom

Copy "S7S-SE6_SoundSet_7.1a.xml" and/or "S7S-SE6_SoundSet_7.1a_Lite.xml" into this folder on that machine:

/Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Avid/Sibelius 7/Sounds

That looks correct, except the "Sounds" folder needs to have the "S" as uppercase.

i changed the S but thhis did not change the problem
is S7S  compatible with OS 10.6.8 ?
to install S7S i copied from one computer via another  mac book pro OS 10.8.5
could it be that i have to get o fresh download for the OS 10.6.8

As far as I know Sibelius 7 is compatible with OS 10.6.8. The S7S Template and S7S sound set will work on any computer that can run Sibelius 7.

Did you install a fresh copy of Sibelius on this machine?

yes ! i did install a fresh copy and run scan in audio

I'm not sure what the problem is. Can you show me the complete path of your Sounds folder? I attached an image of what mine looks like.

OK, the Sounds folder and its contents definitely look good.

I'm stumped as to why it's not showing up - can't think of anything that's missing.

Update:

atom and I never did figure out what was causing the sound set to not show in the drop down list. However, he did a re-install of everything and it is now working properly.
